The Solberg Tower

We paid a visit to the Solberg Tower on our way back from the stone industries last week. The tower and park complex is located just a short distance from the Swedish border. The site itself pays tribute to cultural heritage, however it has a modern approach in its construction materials; characterised by concrete and corten steel elements.

The tower itself is a staircase, with reminders on each floor of the diminishing sea levels from ancient times, as well as an escalating view of the surroundings.

The park displays a series of informational boards with texts and pictures from the numerous archeological findings in the region.

Details in the paving.

Nearby: petroglyphs on a stone, dating back to the bronze age.
