Five Stories on Landscape

Great news, everyone!

The book “Five Stories on Landscape” will be launched during the IFLA World Congress in Oslo September 18th-20th – which is, by the way, fully booked. Stoked!

The book celebrates 2019 as an important year for Norwegian landscape architecture. From the description:

Landscape architecture has a lot to offer when we are designing our greener cities of tomorrow. Combining design thinking with competence in natural processes, understanding of social, aesthetical and technical questions makes us
suited to form solutions for a more environmentally friendly development.

Featuring more than 40 projects and examples from Norway, essays and conversations with landscape architects, architects and other innovators, this book presents five different stories on how we see and design our surroundings.

The publication celebrates one hundred years of landscape architecture education in Norway and reflects on the past twenty years of practice and challenges.

The book can be ordered from here –> Five Stories on Landscape and can be obtained for a discount price at the congress.

Jubileum for KOTE

Tidsskriftets tiende nummer – hurra!

Call for submission for KOTE #6

Wait - Photo by Einar Elton

In KOTE #6 we will explore what borders are and how they influence us. From the imaginary to the physical. From intimate border to territorial borders.

We will investigate which spaces are the results of various limits. The city has many borders with various meanings. How are they influenced by non-physical borders, for example a school district? The city has curbs, bollards, hedges, walls and intersections. The movement of people is formed by borders, but is it only physical borders that dictate where we go?

In the discourse involving borders, who is speaking on borderlands? What happens when the border becomes a place?

Send in your text, draft or ideas by January 16th to KOTE!

Planned release Autumn 2015.
