Floating deck under construction. Nes, Akershus

Our summer project this year – me and my girlfriend, her brother and cousin – was the design and construction of a floating deck for the family cabin.

SketchUp – Favorite plugins for Landscape Architecture

We have been using Trimble SketchUp quite extensively as of late. It’s increasingly useful these days after the implemention of IFC classification to objects (albeit limited, it automatically classifies unknown objects to IFCBuildingElementProxy elements, ensuring the entire model is included when collaborating with other disciplines). Below are some extensions I find useful at a daily basis. This list will be updated as additional extensions are discovered. Feel free to leave tips in the comment section below! Details, details

Detalj - Landskapsatelier

All work and no play makes Danny a dull boy.

Easter? So they say. Meanwhile, I’m modelling my custom constructions. Above is a subtly scaled outdoor art studio. Benches are placed in East-West direction, divided by a gap framing the landscape in the distance, observable as you approach the platform.

Om å prosjektere i 3D

Rammeverket

Du visste at man kunne snitte gjennom ting i Lumion, sant?

The broken connections

Meanwhile, in Sortland…

What is a urban planning strategy that in essence creates an introverted and inaccessible town, where the natural foundations are at taken for granted, in practice ignored; connections lost, architecture randomised and most of the ideal locations for development regulated to industrial sites and/or parking lots?
